Steps to deactivate Instagram account from phone

Apple Intelligence has been the big Apple story of the year. Unfortunately, it is yet to properly arrive on iPhones, including the newer iPhone 16 series devices. iOS 18 is finally here. With iOS 18, a lot of features have been introduced that were initially seen on Android phones. One such feature is the call recording feature. Step 6: The transcript of the recording will be saved in the Notes app. Simply go to the Notes app. Then find a dedicated folder for “Call Recordings”, where you can access it under Notes > Call Recordings.

But that’s not all. With iOS 18 you will also be able to transcribe the recorded calls so that you can keep a log of the conversation conveniently. The transcribed text will be automatically saved in the Notes app under a dedicated folder for call recordings. The transcription feature is only limited to certain languages such as English (U.S., UK, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore), Spanish (U.S., Mexico), Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Portuguese (Brazil).

Yesterday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the new Budget 2024. With this, came new changes to the income tax rates in the New Tax Regime (NTR). With this new change, the standard deductions have increased from the current Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000.

Further, the salaried taxpayers who have an income above Rs 15 lakhs will have a benefit of up to Rs 17,500. This will come as a result of the accumulation of tax savings across various income slabs, in addition to standard deduction. This leads to an overall increase in savings.

Further, the Finance Minister also proposed an increase in the monetary threshold for filing appeals related to direct tax, excise, and service tax in tribunals, high courts, and the Supreme Court to Rs 60 lakh, Rs 2 crore, and Rs 5 crore, respectively.

Capital Gains Taxation has been simplified

As announced yesterday, taxation on capital gains has been simplified. This is because of the introduction of a uniform 20% rate on short-term capital gains. However, the existing rates will continue to apply to other financial and non-financial assets.

She further said, on the other hand, a 12.5% tax rate will be applied to long-term gains on all financial and non-financial assets. To benefit the lower and middle-income groups, I propose increasing the capital gains exemption limit to ₹1.25 lakh per year for certain financial assets.

WhatsApp is one of the most used messaging apps out there. And the makers know that, therefore they keep on adding new features to keep the users hooked to this platform. Step 4: It will then ask you for your phone number. Don’t do that, instead use the dots to open a drop-down menu.
Step 5: Here, select the option to link this phone as a companion device.
Step 6: You will now see a QR code, scan it and your phone will get linked.

How to protect smartphones from rain

1. Invest in a Waterproof Case/ Pouch: A quality waterproof case or pouch is your first line of defence against raindrops and accidental splashes. These cases are designed to seal your phone from moisture while allowing full functionality.

2. Use Screen Protectors: Screen protectors not only guard against scratches but can also provide an additional layer of protection against water.

3. Keep Your Hands Dry: Moisture on your hands can transfer to your smartphone, potentially causing damage. Ensure your hands are dry before using your device, especially after being exposed to rain.

Both major telecom operators Airtel and Jio are set to increase the prices of their prepaid and postpaid plans. The new plans, their rates, and benefits were notified last week and will be applicable starting tomorrow, July 3. The postpaid users will have to recharge their phones with new plans, once they are over but there is a way through which prepaid users can still save money! 

Both Airtel and Jio users have the option of lining up recharge at the same rate instead of the new prices. 

Basically, both the telecom operators provide an option of recharging the phone with an existing plan. The new plan is only applied once the existing plan gets over. So, while the users retain the validity of the current plan, they can take advantage of the new plan later as well. This ensures an uninterrupted service. 

However, the same catch can be used in the current situation to recharge your phone at the existing rates. Airtel has confirmed that users can recharge for a maximum of 730 days, which is equivalent to almost two years. 

“An Airtel customer subscribing to Unlimited calling offer will get accretive validity if the subsequent recharge is done prior to expiry of current recharge, maximum validity accrual can be done for a period of upto 730 days, post which all subsequent accretive recharges will fail,” the telecom operator says on its support page. 

Jio, on the other hand, is yet to clarify the specific period for the same. 

All of these new plans will remain in queue and will only be effective once the existing plan gets over. Having said that, you will have to recharge your phone before July 3 for these plans to be effective.

How to save on your prepaid and postpaid plans?

The only other way to save money on your data plans is by observing your consumption patterns more closely and making changes accordingly. For example, if you only consume 1 GB of data everyday but were on a 2GB per day plan, then you can opt for a more affordable plan in the new recharge cycle.

There’s a portal, launched by the Indian government to help you track and eventually block your lost device. It is called Sanchar Saathi. It uses the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) to track down your device.

How to use the Sanchar Saathi portal?

Before you go ahead and use the portal, you need to have a valid police complaint against your loss. Once that’s done, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to the Sanchar Saathi website- https://sarcharsaathi.gov.in
Step 2: Next, register on the portal by clicking on the ‘Register Here’ button.
Step 3: Find and click on the option that reads ‘Find stolen/lost device’
Step 4: Here, you will be required to type in details such as your name, mobile number, IMEI details, device’s brand, model, and invoice.
Step 5: At this point, you will also be required to upload the purchase bill of your smartphone.
Step 6: Post that, you will be asked to enter details about the loss of your device. This will include city, district, state, and date.
Step 7: Additionally, you will have to share the details of the police station where you have filed a complaint, and the complaint number and upload a copy of the complaint.
Step 8: Next, you will have to enter your details along with a valid photo identity card, like Aadhaar, etc.
Step 9: Now enter your mobile number and generate OTP.
Step 10: Once your OTP is verified, you can create an account by simply adding your name, email address, and password. After adding the details click on the “Create Account” button.
Step 11: Now log in to the portal.

How to locate and disable your device?

Here’s how you can locate and block your device.

Step 1: Once you log in, click on the “IMEI Search” button.
Step 2: Enter your device’s IMEI number and tap on “Search.”
Step 3: It will display the location of your smartphone.
Step 4: If you wish to block your device, then click on the “Block Stolen/Lost Mobile” button, add your phone number, and select the reason for blocking your phone.
Step 5: Click on the “Block” button. Your phone will be blocked, and it will not be able to make or receive calls or messages.

Now, in a rare case, it will be fair to call it a miracle in itself, you find your device. Then you would want to unblock it. You can do that too on the same portal.

If you are a Vi user and wish to enable call forwarding, then it is pretty easy too. Simply dial 62 followed by your phone number and #. For eg: 629412545xxx. By dialing this you can enable it. When you change your mind and disable it, then just dial ##62#.

For BSNL

And lastly, if you are a BSNL user and want to enable call forwarding, then simply dial 21 and your phone number. For eg: 219412545xxx. And again, if you wish to deactivate it, then simply dial ##21#.

So these are some simple steps that you can follow to enable and disable it on your mobile number. It is pretty simple and doesn’t take a lot of time.

• Step 4: Try a wired connection, to see if it helps. If possible, connect your device directly to the router with an ethernet cable for a more stable connection.

You might see a red loading circle endlessly spinning. Don't worry, these steps can get things moving again:

• Step 1: Restart the app by closing the Netflix app completely and relaunch it.

4) Downgraded Video Quality: Poor Video

5) Audio Description Stuck On: Audio Out Of Sync

Twitter (formerly X) is quite a bustling social media platform. But I honestly feel that not a lot of people use it to its full potential. There are a lot of things that people have not discovered about X. Today I have a little crash course for you on X and we’re going to talk about some features that you should use to up your X game. I will take you through Communities, Lists, and Spaces on X. Read along to know it all. 

Before we get into how we can use Communities, Lists, and Spaces on X, let me first quickly tell you about what these things are. 

What are Communities on X (Twitter)?

To help you understand communities, it is a WhatsApp group where only the admins can send messages. So, on X moderators and admins manage Communities and they can enforce community rules and guidelines. Just like everything else on X, a Community is public, however, only those who have been invited can communicate. 

So, how do I become a Community Member?

Look certain Communities on X are open for anyone to join, but it does require admin approval to let you in.

You can even create your own community and customise who can join it simply by clicking on the Communities button at the centre of the bottom navigation bar. You can even customise the Membership type here. 

Now, let's move on to Lists.

What are Lists on X (Twitter)?

Lists are something that you can create on your own on X or even subscribe to those created by others. Lists allow you to group people/accounts of similar interests to simplify the experience for you. For eg: You can create a list of your work colleagues and when you type in anyone’s name you will see messages from everyone in that list on your timeline. Now these lists can be either public or private. Only you can see a private list whereas anyone can access public lists. 

How to create a list on X (Twitter)?

Step 1: Go to X and click on “Lists” from the menu. 
Step 2: Now click on “Create a List.”
Step 3: On the top right-hand corner you will see a paper with a plus sign icon, click on that.
Step 4: Next, add a name and description for your list. 
Step 5: Now select the private box if you want to make a private list. 
Step 6: Click on “Next” add the people to your list and select “Done.”

What are Spaces on X (Twitter)?

Spaces allow you to have live audio conversations on X. This is available both on Android and on iOS and anyone can join, listen, and speak in a Space on X. As far as the web is concerned, you can only listen on it. 

Let me tell you how you can use it. 

How to use Spaces on X (Twitter)?

Step 1: Go to X and long press on the + icon on your Home timeline. 
Step 2: Then select the Spaces icon which looks like a mic. Alternatively, you can even click on the Spaces tab at the bottom of your timeline.
Step 3: Give a name to your Space and start it. 
Step 4: You can even schedule a Space by clicking on “Schedule for later.”
Step 5: Anyone can access Spaces as a listener since they are public. However, to invite someone, you can share the link. 
Step 6: Once the Space is live, 13 people are allowed to speak which also includes the host and 2 co-hosts. 
Step 7: You can decide whom you wish to make your co-host and speakers, and you can change that too.

That was all about X's Lists, Communities, and Spaces. Now go ahead and use these features if you want.

Don’t worry, it is not exactly like you have to bind yourself in just 280 characters and have to limit information for that. If what you wish to say doesn’t fit into the character limit then you can create another tweet and thread it to the main one. Threading tweets on X is a common practice. You just go back to your original tweet and add another tweet to it or simply comment on it. You can tweet multiple times in the thread.

How to add pictures to a tweet

You can even add pictures to your tweets to make them more engaging and don’t worry, it doesn’t eat up your character limit either. You can add up to 4 photographs per tweet. If you’re using a PC then you can easily drag and drop or click on the gallery icon. You can use this on the app too.

How to add videos to a tweet

Videos are becoming the most popular on social media but not a lot of people use X to share those. You can even add videos to your tweets. You can either directly record a video on X, edit it, and share it or you can share one from your gallery. If you wish to record then click on the camera icon and click on the gallery icon if you want to directly upload from the gallery.

Follow people and hashtags 

To stay updated with trends and what’s happening you need to follow people and hashtags that interest you. You can follow as many people and hashtags as you like and their latest tweets will show up first on your feed in chronological order.

How to screen record your Android smartphone?

Step 1: To start the screen recording on an Android smartphone, first swipe down and open the control centre.
Step 2: If you can't see the "Screen Recorder" yet, swipe down again or swipe right for more controls.

How to screen record your iPhone?

Recording the screen of an iPhone is also very similar to recording an Android screen. You just have to swipe down for "Control Centre," and you will see the "Screen Recorder."
